5K Road Race and 1 mile Fun Run
to Kopernik Observatory & Science Center
at Dusk (7:00 p.m.)
Saturday, September 16, 2017
Are you up for a challenge?? This isn’t your ordinary 5K!
Come be part of the first annual Kopernik Race to the Stars 5K road race. Run through sunset and into the dark night. The moonless sky above will reveal a beautiful Milky Way and numerous deep sky objects. It will be a great reward for completing a challenging road race!
The race will start at the intersection of West Hill Road and Glenwood Road and finish at Kopernik Observatory on Underwood Road in Vestal. This will be a great course to test your stamina with a 700 foot vertical rise.
There also will be a 1-mile family-friendly Fun Run on a relatively flat course.
After the run, have fun at an after-party with a DJ and night sky observing through Kopernik’s telescopes.
Where: Kopernik Observatory & Science Center, 698 Underwood Road, Vestal, NY 13850
