"Galilean Nights" Event at the Broome County Library
Held on October 22, 2009, 4pm until 7pm
The Kopernik Astronomical Society set up telescopes and a ‘hand-out table’ outside of the Broome County Library in Binghamton NY as a part of the “Galilean Nights” international astronomy event. Our intent was to provide views of Jupiter’s moons, and information about Galileo’s accomplishments of 400 years ago. While it was cloudy, we were able to give about 100 people using the library terrestrial views thru our telescopes and we provided information on Galileo’s discoveries.
